Month 5 - Lithuanian Sodra Paternity
30-day payout at 77.58% of the reference wage. The reference wage is calculated from income in Lithuania during the 12-month window preceding the leave. Because Laurynas recently moved from the Netherlands, the 12-month Lithuanian income window means little to no LT-sourced income is captured, which prevents the €390/month floor from applying and results in a minimal or zero Sodra paternity payment.
The 12-month LT income window: only income earned in Lithuania during the preceding year counts toward the reference wage. Recent expats typically have little or no LT income in that window, so the benefit’s statutory minimum floor of ~€390/month does not apply. The actual payout may be zero.
Month 6+ - Lithuanian Sodra Childcare
From month 6 onward, choose between two Sodra childcare periods:
18-month option
60% of reference wage for 18 months. Higher monthly payout over a shorter period.
24-month option
45% (first 12 months) then 30% (next 12 months) of reference wage. Lower but extended coverage.
Dutch S041 aggregation
Under the S041 form procedure, the Dutch UWV aggregates the parent’s Dutch and Lithuanian income to calculate a combined daily wage. This ensures that cross-border workers moving between EU member states receive the correct benefit level from both countries.
